Regional Headquarters of Japanese and Western MNCs: A Comparative Study

چکیده

This in-depth survey of 30 RHQs in Asia and in Europe shows that the RHQs of Japanese MNC are less involved in shaping the regional perspective and in integrating operations in the region than the RHQs of Western MNCs. RHQs of Japanese MNCs were not staffed with more expatriates than those of Western MNCs, and in terms of the mind-set resemble those of Western MNCs. Japanese and Western MNCs use different organisational mechanisms in their RHQs in dealing with the national units in the region, but the differences are less pronounced
